Cogent Computing Prize for Final Year Project Students
The Cogent Computing Research Group has established a competitive prize for final year project students. The winner will receive £100 and three runners-up will each receive £50.
Eligibility
Any student completing a final year project this year (2007), who believes their work to be of interest to the Cogent Computing Research Group may enter. The group is interested in pervasive computing systems and their applications. This includes work in wireless sensor networks, HCI, visualisation and other areas.
Rules
- To enter the competition, students must first notify the group of their intention to submit an entry. Notification should be emailed to Sarah Mount (s.mount@coventry.ac.uk) by April 1, 2007.
- Each entry must consist of:
- An extended abstract of up to four pages, in IEEE format, describing work achieved in the project. Students needing assistance should email Dr Elena Gaura (e.gaura@coventry.ac.uk).
- A video demonstration of the project outcomes, lasting up to five minutes. Assistance will be provided by the research group, students should email Sarah Mount (s.mount@coventry.ac.uk) for details.
- An independent panel of judges will determine the winners and runners-up by June 14, 2007. The judges decision will be final.
- Winners will be notified on June 15, 2007.
Key dates
- 21 April - Deadline by which you must notify the group of your intention to enter the competition.
- 1 June - Deadline by which extended abstracts and videos must be submitted to the group. 14 June - Judges meeting.
- 15 June - Winner notification.
