Getting involved in the iPED network

There are many opportunities for you to become involved with the iPED community.  Events and seminars are open to all across the University and provide an opportunity to network with colleagues, discuss ideas and hear about research and developments from across the University.  Just book a place through the iPED website. Alternatively if you would like to join a writing group, contact Mary Deane (m.deane@coventry.ac.uk) in CAW.

iPED provides personal support and advice support for pedagogical research. See the contact details at the end of the newsletter for the research fellows. Alternatively, if there is sufficient demand, small groups can also be supported.  Please contact Andrew Turner (a.p.turner@coventry.ac.uk) for more information.

Would you like to join our network email list? To keep up-to-date with iPED news and discussions, share learning, teaching and research tips, websites of interest, network with like-minded colleagues Send an email to: listserv@coventry.ac.uk  with the following text below the message (don't put any text in the ‘subject line' or add any other text to the body of the email, the process is automated)

Finally, the iPED Website www.coventry.ac.uk/iped features information on our main thematic areas of interest, materials to support pedagogical research and events and seminars.

We also have an International iPED JISCMAIL discussion list:

About iPED

About iPED

The Inquiring Pedagogies (iPED) Research Network is a major strategic initiative, supporting colleagues at Coventry University and beyond who undertake research into teaching and learning, or who would like to do so. Based in the University's Centre for the Study of Higher Education (CSHE), it makes a key contribution to the quality of professional practice and to students' experiences of learning, both at Coventry and in the wider academic community.

iPED ensures that inquiry is at the heart of teaching and learning in two ways. Firstly, the iPED network offers support at all levels for those who teach, and who would like to develop their own understanding and practice through pedagogic inquiry. Extending the community of pedagogic researchers at Coventry provides an encouraging environment in which critical inquiry can take place. Secondly, iPED has a particular focus on the development and evaluation of curricula that emphasise inquiry. The goal is that learners will have an enhanced opportunity to develop their capabilities, to become more innovative, self-motivated, independent and self-critical.
