The MA in Peace and Reconciliation Studies attracts well qualified applicants from the UK, other European countries, and from around the world.
Within the broad field of peace studies, our programme focuses on the area of conflict transformation and peace-building.
The core modules that constitute the programme provide a thorough understanding of core issues in peace and reconciliation studies including such contested concepts as forgiveness, justice, just war and the ‘responsibility to protect’. We are particularly concerned to explore the ways in which destructive and violent conflict at whatever level can be transformed along constructive channels by non-violent means, and we have a special interest in examining the relationship between religious faith, conflict and peace.
