The University provides high quality buildings and facilities to support staff and partners undertaking Applied Research activities. 

Currently there are five Institutes:

• Futures Institute
• Serious Games Institute (SGI)
• Institute for Creative Enterprise (ICE)
• Health Design & Technology Institute (HDTI)
• Institute of Applied Entrepreneurship (IAE)

These Institutes are intended to provide a unique environment for Applied Research and they normally incorporate:

• Applied Research Groups and Centres
• Research Equipment and Facilities
• Incubation and Commercial Accommodation
• Communal Social Space
• Training and Presentation Facilities

The aim of each Institute is to create an environment which supports a unique combination of commercial activity and academic research.
