The project

Interserve Healthcare delivers bespoke healthcare services to clients in their own homes and healthcare establishments throughout the UK.

Through a network of 26 branches, working with CCGs and Social Services Interserve Healthcare provide care directly to people in their own homes as well as clients who fund their care themselves. Interserve delivers high quality care services to adults, children and young people with complex and long term conditions.

Interserve is delighted to be working with the Centre for Technology Enabled Health Research, Coventry University to look at cutting edge research across the healthcare sector. Through supporting these 3 PhD studentships, Interserve aims to produce original and significant contributions to the knowledge base in this area.

Demographic changes have created an international challenge of an ageing population with predicted dramatically increasing costs on government funded health and care services requiring new approaches to health and care provision within the home. These 3 interconnected PhDs sponsored by Interserve Healthcare seek to explore new ways of designing and commissioning services using new technologies, roles and novel approaches to models of care with the aim of transforming community health and support services.

About the Centre/Department

The Centre for Technology Enabled Health Research, launched in 2014 by Coventry University, has brought together a multi-disciplinary group of researchers with the aim of catalysing exciting and novel approaches to developing and harnessing new technologies. Staffed by a team of 40 academics, we are committed to collaborative research building on our international strengths in health psychology, technology design, user-centred methods and health technology assessment.

We offer experienced inter-disciplinary, national and international supervisory teams to support students to achieve excellence in their research. For Health Services Research, Coventry University was ranked joint 5th in the UK in REF2014 (UoA3; Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy) with 94% of our outputs recognised as World-leading or Internationally Excellent.
