Ocean Governance and Blue Growth Seminar


The Seminar brought together scholars from Coventry University and Universitas Indonesia around maritime security and governance issues.

The Newton success came on the back of a highly valuable 2-day seminar, which involved researchers from Universitas Indonesia and counterparts from various departments and research centres at Coventry University. The workshop was the first in a series of workshops involving the two institutes. In it, it was agreed that institutional collaboration would be developed in the following areas:

  • Industry/ University links
  • Research & Publications
  • Education & Training
  • Public policy
  • Community Engagement
  • Cultural Awareness

The next meeting will be in Indonesia and is planned for 7 and 8 March. This workshop will focus on:

  • Maritime Security
  • Coastal Management Tools
  • Maritime Economics and Port Management
  • Maritime Environmental Management
  • Maritime Safety & Transport
  • Maritime Resources
