Innovation, Design & Technology

Focus of our Research

Our aim is to support and conduct high quality translational research into the development of health and care technology-based interventions. This includes the design, development and evaluation of a range of technologies and services including assisted living, new diagnostics and digital care/telehealth.

With a focus on the user experience, we work with industry, developers, health and social care staff, voluntary organisations, researchers, consumers and users of all ages to drive market change in:

  • digitally enabled mainstream technologies to empower and enable people to improve their own health and wellbeing;
  • engaging with people across the life course to deliver inclusive design and usability of technology through creative methodologies;
  • translational research working with clinicians, scientists, engineers and policy makers;
  • early stage health technology assessment methods.
