Shifting Balances Symposium

How are we training dancers to deal with complex dynamic spatial relationships?  What are the micro and macro levels of ‘balance’ that dancers experience and how can we explore and augment this aspect of dancers’ training, performance and ‘being in the world’.  How are we putting ideas for training balance, stillness and motion – into motion?  When exploring these ideas from practice and exploration, where are the intersections and places of shared weight and meaning?

The symposium will facilitate discussion on current research in ‘balance’ and begin to articulate a research agenda that combines disciplines and perspectives for future investigation and presentation. We would like to bring like-minded, but diversely situated colleagues together to share in discussion on ‘balance’.  The day will provide opportunity for presentation, facilitated discussion and the chance to articulate ideas for future research and collaboration.

Incase you missed this catch up on the story of the day here
