Coventry University's School of Art and Design will be hosting a new exhibition in its purpose-built gallery space in the city centre from this Friday.

The Lanchester Gallery on Jordan Well – which forms part of The Hub – is the venue for the exhibition Possession (II), featuring sixteen artists from the UK, Cambodia, France, the Philippines, Singapore, Switzerland, USA and Vietnam.

Artists include Coventry University's own senior lecturer in graphic design and illustration, Andrew Spackman, whose work will be shown in the context of colleagues around the world – the full list of artists can be found in the notes to editors.

The exhibition will run from Friday 14th March to Sunday 13th April, with Friday's opening day featuring an introduction by the co-curators at 1pm which will see them discuss the international selection of artists in detail.

Professor Judith Mottram, director of the Lanchester Gallery, said:

We are very happy to be hosting this event and to be bringing such an exciting range of international artists to Coventry. The curators have brought the exhibition to Coventry as they considered it would complement and extend our focus on the role of the art gallery in the city.

Our future programme at the Lanchester Gallery will continue to present leading artists from the UK and overseas, and provides an easily accessible gallery for people in the West Midlands and around the country to see contemporary art.

Later events in the exhibition season this spring and summer include the Coventry University Drawing Prize and then the photography students' end of year degree show exhibition.
