Where to go on your first day
In order to ensure your arrival is as stress-free as possible please ensure that you read carefully the following guidelines for attendance on your first day. If you are an International student, please see the pages on Enrolment and Induction for International Students.
You will be given an induction timetable of where you need to go on your first day, based on which course you are on. In the first instance, including if you arrive late, please report to the main reception in the relevant faculty building:
- Faculty of Engineering and Computing – Engineering and Computing Building;
- Faculty of Health and Life Sciences – Richard Crossman Building;
- School of Art and Design – Graham Sutherland Building;
- Faculty of Business Environment and Society – Jaguar Building Business Reception (first floor).
See a location map of the faculty buildings (also available as a pdf download).
We know that coming to University can be an expensive time and, aside from accommodation and course fees, there are so many other things you need to budget for. That's why we've introduced No Hidden Extras which we feel makes it that bit easier for students at the beginning of the academic year when outgoings are high. For example, we supply all essential core texts free of charge. Follow the link for more details about what you are eligible for.
Additionally, we offer a series of scholarships (essentially free money or financial benefits) for high achieving students and you could be eligible for one! There are four undergraduate scholarships: the Sports Scholarship, the Phoenix Scholarship, the Academic Excellence Scholarship and the Engineering and Computing Excellence Scholarship. Check out our Scholarships page to see if you might be eligible. The closing date for applications is 31 August.
