Integrated online learning at Coventry University London
Coventry University London has introduced an innovative new learning experience platform Aula.
The mobile-first platform offers an interactive teaching and learning environment which will enhance and strengthen the way we continue to deliver teaching and learning, whether this is digital, face-to-face or a blend of both.
Aula's dynamic look and feel makes it intuitive and simple to use. The design is based on existing social media platforms so it feels familiar, meaning you can quickly and easily find your way around and engage with others. Some of Aula’s benefits include:
- User friendly – browse content and module materials on a central newsfeed, where you can share comment or join in conversations. Here you are only one click away from course information and connecting with others
- Flexible – take control over when and where you study, with direct online access on laptops, tablets and mobile phone devices
- Engaging – create small working groups or chat privately with peers, friends, lecturers and tutors
- Integrated – interact with existing tools, such as OneDrive, The Big Blue Button and more
Hear from some of our students who are already benefitting from Aula:
When I first logged on I noticed immediately that the platform Aula is more socially orientated, you can easily navigate through the modules.
It is always good to acquire new skills, and with this remote learning – I’ve improved communication, time management and leadership skills.
Due to social distancing [and working remotely], when I am using Aula I’m only 1 click away from interacting with my colleagues.

The chat section provides a platform which is less formal than any email, creating an opportunity for students to feel less intimidated when asking any questions. I have peers who are timid to ask questions and this breaks the barrier, if not completely but to an extent.

Aula has helped greatly as it considers all the aspects of the learning experience. The ability to easily watch recordings, notes and videos of lectures, chat with teammates and report progress all in one application has made it very easy.
The mobile phone integration is very well done, the look and feel is exactly the same, and even more friendly than the desktop version. Everything you need is a simple tap away. I like it.
