Your previous studies don’t need to be related to marketing: past students have come from a range of disciplines, including science. You may have recently completed a qualification, or you might have been working in industry for some years and wish to return to studying. We accept a variety of prior qualifications, including HND, BTEC or a foundation degree, and there are 2 intakes per year to offer greater choice to international students and those in employment.
London is a great place to study marketing, because Britain has one of the most sophisticated marketing cultures in the world. Business and consumer relationships are finely tuned, technology is used to its best advantage, and advanced practice is continually being developed. Plus, our London campus is in the heart of the Square Mile, so we rub shoulders with some of the world’s biggest corporations and retail brands as well as some of the most edgy and innovative business formats – including flagship stores, pop-ups, virtual businesses and streets markets. It’s all on your doorstep, just waiting to be explored.
The leader of this course is a Senior Fellow of the HE Academy and winner of the British Academy of Management and Emerald Advanced Authorship Scheme. She holds a PhD and remains research-active, and is widely published. She is also part of the research committee at Coventry University London. Several others are also active in research and/or consultancy, which feeds into their teaching; they have recently presented papers at the Academy of Marketing and the British Academy of Management.
None of your modules will be UK-focused. Instead, you will address every subject from a global perspective, understanding how marketing differs in different geographical and cultural contexts. You will graduate with an excellent awareness of issues in global business and marketing strategy.
