‘Is my company eligible to participate in the internship scheme?’

Through our MBA Employer Internship Programme, we are delighted to offer the services and expertise of our student population to employers of any size and in any business sector.

‘How will you ensure the intern is right for my business?’

To ensure success, our Employability team work closely with you to identify the right intern for your needs. Successful students are selected through a comprehensive application and interview process which requires them to demonstrate both a high standard of academic work and appropriate professional skills and qualities.

‘Can I interview the interns?’

Yes. Following our internal selection process, successful shortlisted students may be interviewed by you for final selection. We would encourage you to do this to ensure a suitable match for your needs.

‘Will the intern be paid?’

There is no requirement to pay students an internship salary.

However due to the complex nature of the projects our interns undertake, employers do offer interns remuneration in line with their own company policy. In addition the majority of employers offer support to the intern with expenses such as travel or subsistence costs. Any payments are negotiated on an individual basis.

‘What happens if I want to keep the intern longer than their 10 week internship?’

Our interns are typically undertaking a year of intensive study so it is not possible to extend their internship experience.

However, a significant number of employers have subsequently employed students once their studies have finished. Each situation can be discussed on an individual basis.
