As a member of staff you can enjoy an extensive range of benefits available on a huge range of products and services, including supermarket shopping, restaurants and visitor attractions. We also offer childcare vouchers, discounted rates on healthcare plans and advice on healthy living.

 

Annual leave

Coventry University offers generous annual leave entitlement, which is linked to your grade and length of service. Our current provision is a minimum of 25 days rising to a maximum of between 33 and 40 days dependent of grade (plus bank holidays).

 

Pension schemes

Coventry University offers two different pension schemes for staff:

  • Teacher’s Pension Scheme (TPS);
  • Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS);
Help with travel

Cycle to Work scheme

Coventry University has teamed up with Cycle Scheme to offer you a fantastic saving of up to 40% on the cost of a bike and cycling safety equipment for work (and leisure too).  By ordering a bike through this scheme you can:

  • save up to 40%;
  • spread the cost over 12 months through monthly payments direct from your salary;
  • choose from any make or model available from a wide range of local bike shops;
  • save on the cost of safety equipment;
  • help the environment.

CarShare

The University works with ‘liftshare’ to provide staff with its very own car share scheme. To use the scheme you need to register your journey details and you will be matched with other registered members who live locally to you.

West Midlands Travel Card

Coventry University staff can spread the cost of bus and rail travel to work with an annual West Midlands Travel Card. The University will initially pay for your Travel Card and you can meet the cost via monthly deductions from your salary. This allows you to benefits from the discounted travel rates associated with purchasing an annual pass, whilst still allowing you to spread the cost, interest free, over 12 months.

 

Healthcare

University staff members can benefit from specially discounted membership rates on a cash plan.

 

The Sport and Recreation Centre

Coventry University prides itself on its excellent range of sport and recreation facilities, which comprise a fitness suite, dance studio, therapy clinic, two and four court activity halls as well as outdoor pitches which are ideal for football, rugby, hockey and American football.

We have a range of exercise classes and the timetable is updated regularly. Choose from Body Combat, Yoga, Cardio Tennis, Zumba and much more.  

 

Language programme

Want to learn to speak a foreign language? Mandarin, Russian, Hindi and French are just some of the languages taught on Coventry University’s Linguae Mundi foreign language programme. Our classes are an affordable and engaging way to learn a language in a fun group setting. You will learn how to communicate in a foreign language in everyday situations from ordering food in a restaurant to making new friends. The 13-week programme costs £75.

Lanchester Library

All our University staff have access to the extensive collection of books and  journals within the University library, and can access our ebooks, ejournals and databases 24/7 via our portal. Staff are permitted to borrow up to 20 standard loan items in any one period, and can also make use of the wireless network and PCs within the building.
