Support

Support

Coventry University will provide support to you in your career and working environment.  Whether you're relocating to work with us, looking for support as an academic or just want to speak to other like-minded people, we've developed a support network for you.

Relocating

If you are relocating to Coventry or the surrounding area the HR team can discuss this with you once you have been appointed to a role. The University also has its own letting agent, Futurelets, who may be able to help you find suitable accommodation.

Academic support

The Centre for Academic Writing (CAW) is an innovative teaching and research centre which can help to equip academic staff in all disciplines to achieve their full potential as authors and teachers of scholarly writing.

We are able to offer teaching staff individualised guidance on designing assignment briefs, incorporating writing activities in their seminar work, and on teaching writing within subject courses. We also offer research students and staff one-to-one advice on writing for publication, writing in grant proposals and other types of academic and academic-related writing.

The Sigma maths and stats support team runs workshops covering a wide range of basic statistical techniques aimed at research students and academic staff.

Employee networks

There are four staff networks at the University that have been set up to support staff and share ideas. These are:

  • black and minority ethnic staff network;
  • disabled employees’ network;
  • lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans staff network;
  • parental returners’ network.

For further information on any of these please email equality.per@coventry.ac.uk.

Our space is an open access lounge available to all staff. The lounge has a number of PCs and is ideal for those staff who don’t normally have access to computers. Here’s the place to check out your emails, the daily noticeboard, the staff portal and other important online information. It is also just a quiet space where any member of staff can go to work.

Health and wellbeing

The health and wellbeing of staff and students is hugely important to the University. A range of services are provided to help ensure you can access the support you need, when you need it.

Employee wellbeing

The Employee Wellbeing Resource Centre is an online service available to all staff. This resource offers advice and information on the 16 most popular health and wellbeing topics with a personal training plan for each topic.
