Introduction to Registry

The Registry is the administrative hub of the University. It is responsible for a wide range of functions,QAA checks how UK universities and colleges maintain the standard of their higher education provision. The QAA diamond logo and 'QAA' are registered trademarks of the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. from governance through to student administration. The Registry consists of Academic Registry, the Home Office Tier 4 Compliance, Quality and Research Support, Legal Services and CPD & Subsidiaries.

The Academic Registry is responsible for all matters relating to student administration, from enrolment through to graduation, including the maintenance of student records, and the organisation of central examinations. The Academic Registry reception is situated on the ground floor of the Student Centre building in Gulson Road, adjacent to the University Library. The Home Office Tier 4 Compliance Team provides support to all our students who are studying at Coventry University on a Tier 4 visa.  The team is responsible for ensuring that the University complies with the Home Office’s rules and regulations and for co-ordinating and managing attendance monitoring.  The Home Office Tier 4 Compliance team are located on the ground floor of the Student Centre.  Contact details are email: The Assistant Registrar is Mary Webb, email

Quality and Research Support provides support for postgraduate research students, from enrolment to graduation. In addition, it co-ordinates the internal arrangements for academic quality assurance; liaison with external educational bodies on franchised and validated programmes; co-ordination of the preparation of documents for external bodies visiting the University for Institutional Reviews; support for the operation of the University's academic framework; provision of advice and information to staff and students on the framework and constituent courses; quality control and assurance of course structures.
