Biography:

Before joining Coventry University as the Director of Strategic Initiatives, David was the Head of Manufacturing at Innovate UK, formerly known as the Technology Strategy Board, TSB. With a team of 6 Lead Technologists, David was responsible for an annual budget of c. £60m, the bulk of which was deployed in supporting the HVM portfolio of Collaborative R&D competitions, and the core funding for the High Value Manufacturing Catapult.

As well as being a member of the HVMC Supervisory Board, David represented Innovate UK on the Industrial Biotechnology Leadership Forum, chaired the Industry Advisory Board for the new National Biologics Manufacturing Centre, was a member of the Automotive Council Supply Chain Group, and sat on the BIS Manufacturing Advisory Group, as well as many others.

David has led, supported by the Institute for Manufacturing at University of Cambridge, the refresh exercise of the Innovate UK 'High Value Manufacturing Landscape' and the 'High Value Manufacturing Strategy'.
