International Centre for Transformational Entrepreneurship
Faculty of Business and Law
I am a research assistant for the International Centre for Transformational Entrepreneurship (ICTE). I am also conducting research for my PhD into the role of social entrepreneurship in social transformation in the UK and Africa. My role involves working with the research team in ICTE to develop, conduct and disseminate research in transformational entrepreneurship.
After completing my MA in Cross-Cultural Communication and International Relations in 2011 I started working at a volunteer organisation managing projects in Ghana. It was in Ghana where I first became interested in social entrepreneurship as I was working with local people starting their own education ventures. I spent the following 2 years working on research projects in Ghana and Sierra Leone, focussed on education and entrepreneurship. After returning to the UK I worked as an Entrepreneurial Development Officer at Newcastle University and as a Network Manager at the School for Social Entrepreneurs working with entrepreneurs to start, sustain and scale their enterprises. I joined ICTE in June 2016.
Previous research projects focussed on extending access to quality education to marginalised groups in West Africa. Current research focuses on social transformation through entrepreneurship internationally.
