An international website which selects business schools in the world for reputation of excellence has given Coventry University’s Business School its highest place to date.

Each year, Eduniversal recommends the world’s 1,000 best business schools and they are awarded one to five ’palms’. In the UK, Coventry is placed 16th and receives 3 palms which classes it in the ”Excellent” business school category, nationally strong with continental links.

1,000 deans and business school presidents from more than 150 countries were asked to recommend a number of business schools and the palms are awarded based on those recommendations.

The information is used worldwide by students to determine where they would like to study.

Professor David Noon, Dean of the Coventry University Business School said:

“This is wonderful news for the Business School. For a new University like Coventry to be so high up the list is extremely gratifying.”

Coventry’s three palm status puts the University on a par with other leading UK business schools like Loughborough and Heriot - Watt in Edinburgh.

Professor Noon added:

”The fact that the ratings are based on the recommendation from Deans from business schools around the world is crucial for Coventry as it shows that our profile is growing globally and that all the work our academic staff have been doing to enhance our reputation is certainly paying off.”

Over 150 countries are represented on the five continents and as well as being based on recommendation, the business schools included in the list are endorsed by an independent scientific committee.

Coventry will be receiving a plaque to display inside the Business School in recognition of its universal status.
