A New Year brings a new series of the popular talk series – Coventry Conversations.
These one hour talks with media movers and shakers are staged weekly in the Ellen Terry building of Coventry University or at the Herbert Art Gallery.
2008 is promising to be a bumper year to hear from an impressive line-up of presenters, journalists and PR professionals.
One of the big TV names to come to Coventry later in the year is the BBC’s Declan Curry. Originally scheduled to open the series on 10 January, a change of time slot in his day job means that he will not be able to make his original date but details will be announced shortly as to who will take his place.
However, people lined up to appear up until March include: Andy Griffee of the BBC, Roger Mosey, Head of BBC Sport, Phil Riley former CEO of Chrysalis Radio, Suzanne Virdee from BBC Midlands Today and Big Brother and I’m a Celebrity producer, Pete Ogden.
John Mair, creator of the series said:
“The line-up is one of the strongest we’ve had and each term we continue attract key speakers from all aspects of the media and PR.
“2007 was a good year and 2008 is going to be even better. For instance, on 24 January, we have a whole day devoted to football and television and on 21 February we have a key lecture at Coventry Cathedral from the Controller of Radio 4.
“As ever, all the talks are free and open to the public and we also welcome school parties.”
Talks from the last series of Coventry Conversations are also now available to listen to again as podcasts. Log on to http://www.coventry.ac.uk/podcasts
