Largest city in the UK
Coventry City Council, 2016
Coventry's large student population gives the city a buzz that you would struggle to find in other larger cities, and also means that the city is a safe and friendly place to live.
There are a large number of restaurants and bars to cater for the many students, so if you're looking for good food at a decent price or a place to enjoy a few drinks you won't be disappointed!
If you want to go shopping then you'll find many major high-street shops at West Orchards and the Lower Precinct Shopping Centre (with many offering student discounts!). Or alternatively, take a walk through Coventry Market, which is one the largest and most successful in the country!
If high-street and mainstream isn't you thing, then Fargo Village is home to plenty of independent shops and tasty street food outlets. In this ever-changing creative village, some of the places you might come across include a bubble tea house, vintage clothing, record shop, American diner, Caribbean restaurant and more!
As you may have heard, we're also bidding to become the 2021 City of Culture - something that we feel encapsulates what our city is all about!
