Royal Visit

On Tuesday 16th January, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be visiting Coventry to officially open our new Science and Health building. During their visit to the city, the couple will also visit the Cathedral and the Positive Youth Foundation.

The visit will include a public walkabout in the cathedral ruins, which you are invited to attend. There will be a limited number of spaces within the ruins so you should get there early if you wish to attend. Gates will open at 9am and the only entry points to the ruins will be by the main steps leading to the cathedral and from Bayley Lane, close to St Mary’s Guildhall.

The city council has advised people to avoid carrying bags wherever possible and to allow extra time for any journeys, as there will be road closures in place throughout the visit.

If you cannot make it into the ruins, there will also be opportunities to see the royal couple as they leave the cathedral by car from University Square, Priory Street and Bayley Lane.
