I am a Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering. My current teaching interests are in Software Engineering Principles, Object Oriented Software Programming in Java, Techniques in Object Oriented Software Design, and Web page development with HTML and JavaScript.
I received the Ph.D degree in 2001, from the Nottingham Trent University / Southampton Institute. I obtained M.Eng Diploma in 1987, from the Dept. of Applied Mathematics and Solid Mechanics at the Tsing-hua University in Beijing, P.R.China.
Before I joined Coventry University in June 2002, I had worked at the School of Computing, Information Systems & Mathematics (SCISM) in South Bank University (London, U.K.) since February 2001, as a Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering. Prior to joining South Bank University I had worked as a research assistant at Southampton Institute in South of England (October 1997 - January 2001), and as a full time academic staff at Luoyang Institute of Technology in P.R.China (1982 - 1996). Currently, my major research interests are in software process oriented quality improvement, software quality assurance, software process assessment and improvement models, application of these models in Teleworking and distributed software development environments, and software process improvement in Object-Oriented software construction. In my recent completed research project, a new process approach has been created successfully to promote development of software industry. A number of research papers have been published in the field.
