The Probability workbook contains a number of simulations to help students
understand random processes, and to give some idea of the likelihood of
particular events occuring.

Coupon collecting simulation
The spreadsheet shown simulates the 'Coupon Collectors' Problem and enables
students to investigate the variability in the number of packets (of
whatever) needed to be opened to collect a given number of different coupons.
Here there were six items in the set and on this occasion 21 packets had to
be opened before the set was complete.
The Workbook PROB.XLS (use PROB7.XLS if you have Excel 2003 or Excel 2007) contains:
- National Lottery simulation
- Coupon collecting simulation
- River level simulation
- Tree Diagrams
