Research in mathematical sciences has traditionally been one of the strengths of Coventry University. Research in the University is now concentrated mainly in Research Centres and Research Groups. In 2005/2006, priority research areas were further strengthened by substantial inward University investments and this led to the formation of the Applied Mathematics Research Centre and boosted the well-established Control theory and Applications Centre.
