Comparing estimators

The sample mean is the most commonly used statistic, but there are situations in which other statistics from a sample give very useful information. They can also show you quite a lot about what is really happening in a distribution. We look at 2 other statistics here, the median and the mid-range, and compare them with the sample mean.
