School Days
‘This is the beginning of Maggie Johnson’s diary. Today, in school, Miss Bates gave me this book and said I should start writing a diary, writing down the things that happen to me and what I think about things. I am not sure where to start so I shall begin with myself.’ |

The work does not tire me but I have to trap without a light and I'm scared. I never go to sleep. Sometimes I sing when I've a light but not in the dark. I dare not sing then. I don't like being in the pit. |
