This workbook is about bivariate data which includes regression and correlation. In the spreadsheet shown, students are given the opportunity to draw in the line of best fit for a set of points by changing the values of the slope and intercept and challenged to find the one where the residuals have the least sum of their squares.

Least Squares regression

To introduce correlation, students are invited to guess the correlation coefficient for a set of points. Two spreadsheets then look at linear combinations of variables, demonstrated visually, and finally a spreadsheet is provided for regression analysis of student's own data - all that is required is data to be entered.
