International Marketing MBA


This course runs at Coventry University London Campus in October 2015 and January and April 2016. 

The international business environment is currently undergoing a series of fundamental and far-reaching economic, social, technological and geo-political changes. These changes have led to the emergence of a new and different market reality that demands of manager's new and different patterns of thinking and behaviour.

The International Marketing Masters in Business Administration (MBA) has been designed to equip students for a career in international marketing by developing the critical knowledge and competencies in the identification, analysis and solution of problems encountered in international marketing and the development of international marketing strategies.


Coventry University London Campus has worked with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) to map selected modules on this programme to the CMI syllabus. As a result of this, students who pass two specific modules on their way to achieving the full qualification can be awarded the CMI Certificate Level 7 Strategic Management and Leadership*. The CMI is the UK awarding body for management and leadership qualifications. It is the only chartered professional body dedicated to promoting the highest standards in management and leadership excellence. It counts more than 100,000 members and is internationally recognised as the professional body that set the standards in management.

The MBA International Marketing has been developed to provide graduates with the opportunity to acquire high level expertise in strategic business, and commercial competencies needed for an international context.

The key elements of the course include:

  • A pathway structure that provides opportunities to specialise in international finance, global business and international marketing
  • An emphasis given to the application of knowledge through, for example, internship opportunities and engagement with real-world business projects from the private, public and third sectors
  • The utilisation of technologies and software such as GMMSO (Global Marketing Management System On-line)
  • The learning and assessment of the MBA International Marketing reflect an action learning approach and is focused upon teamwork, business simulations and real-world projects, all of which are underpinned by analysis and synthesis.

Programme Structure

 All MBA students study five core management modules, four mandatory modules and an internship or project.

MBA International Marketing Modules include:

Advanced business practice, sustainable strategy – from planning to implementation, leading in a changing world, finance, funding and legislative frameworks for success, marketing in a global age, retail marketing management, buyer behaviour analysis: the psychology of buying, alternative markets, creativity, organisation internship or consulting project or dissertation.


You’re learning at Coventry University London Campus is underpinned and supported by the latest developments in technology. Audience Response Systems are used in class to quickly explore your level of understanding and identify any specific issues to focus on.

We use audio visual materials in a range of ways to bring the curriculum to life, through recorded interviews with business leaders, recording key lectures and seminars for you to review and re-watch or in recording your own board presentations as part of your assessed work.


Each module is delivered weekly over a 10 week period. Each weekly delivery consists of a one hour Knowledgecast session, a one hour seminar session and a two hour group activity session.

You will be assigned a personal tutor who will be able to review and discuss your progress and offer advice throughout your studies.

Entry Requirements

To be accepted for the programme students must possess a second class honours degree (2:2) or above. IELTS of 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.

No work experience required.

After having studied my Bachelor’s degree in my home country, I decided to continue my studies in the UK in order to enhance my knowledge and further my skills in business management, especially in marketing. My decision to choose Coventry University London Campus was based on the quality of the Marketing programme it provides compared to other Universities I had researched.

I feel that the MBA International Marketing programme is well structured and can equip students with perfect knowledge of marketing and management. Theory goes hand in hand with practical assignments. The teaching staff, among whom there are many industry professionals, bring extensive knowledge and experience on board to give us an industry insight. The best part I like about the course is the fact that it supports the idea of team work, giving the opportunity to interact with students from a variety of cultural backgrounds, industries and professions. Not only has this improved my team working and communication skills, but it has also helped me understand the cultural diversity which is quite important in the current business environment. Coventry University London Campus also organises guest lectures by successful entrepreneurs and industry experts, which has helped me gain significant knowledge of the current market trends and scenarios.

My entire experience at Coventry University London Campus has been really rewarding. It has helped me grow as a person both academically and professionally. It has challenged me in a positive way; my learning curve was a steep one and I really feel that I have learned a lot, and I will always be thankful to the University that has helped to prepare for my future career.
