CU London has been making changes on campus following a call for student feedback. Tailoring its already flexible educational style to meet the needs of its learners, widespread improvements have been implemented which will benefit students at the East London campus.

As part of its ongoing commitment to provide an exceptional student experience, CU London asked learners to comment on a wide range of services from academic support to recreational facilities. As a direct result of the suggestions received, existing facilities have been developed and extended to further support students’ learning.

Additional library and referencing support has been facilitated with the recruitment of extra library staff to offer in-class assistance, along with expanding a comprehensive selection of textbooks and adding thousands of new online resources.

Increased academic support means students can receive ongoing help from specialist staff and tutors with online systems such as Moodle and Turnitin. New laptops with upgraded operating systems have been added to the dispenser; an automated self-service locker system where students are able to borrow them as needed, using a touch screen. Improvements have also been made to WiFi connectivity across the campus.

It’s a real honour to be a part of CU London and great that our voices get recognised; I’m happy with the changes that have happened.

Justin Joseph, Student, CU London

In addition to providing a first-class academic experience, CU London recognises the importance of students’ health and wellbeing. Free exercise classes are now being offered on-site, and a new counselling and wellbeing area launched this year, offering students the opportunity to discuss any issues or concerns with professional wellbeing practitioners.

The progress doesn’t stop there, as continuing advancements mean steps are being taken to launch a CU London Students’ Union. Crèche and childcare options are also being explored, to assist learners balancing family demands with their studies.

At CU London we’re deeply committed to understanding our students’ experience: listening to all student feedback and making improvements wherever possible to ensure that students' needs are fully met.

Andy Ginn, Associate Pro Vice Chancellor, CU London

Feedback will continue to be considered as part of CU London’s ongoing commitment to the development and welfare of its learners. Students are able to provide their comments and suggestions through Student Forum meetings, the Customer Service Desk or by emailing culondon@coventry.ac.uk.
