Graduation at CU Coventry

Upon completing your course at CU Coventry you'll be able to attend a graduation ceremony. Graduation is often considered to be a highlight of a student's time at University, family and friends are encouraged to join the celebrations. 

Graduation will take place in July. Every year, the ceremony is created to ensure a truly stunning occasion and an everlasting memory.

Location

Located right next to the main university square, Coventry Cathedral provides a beautiful and unique setting for CU Coventry Graduation award ceremonies.


Coventry Cathedral is in fact two buildings, the preserved ruins of the ‘old Cathedral destroyed by enemy air attack in the Second World War and the iconic new cathedral consecrated in 1962 by Her Majesty the Queen, which is an inspiration to many fine artists of post war era and a place of world peace and reconciliation.

Graduation After Party

After you have graduated celebrate in style at your Graduation After Party.

Held at St. Mary's Guildhall, the magnificent medieval interiors and fine artworks offer a window in to Coventry's glorious and fascinating past. Mark this special occasion with your coursemates, tutors, family and friends.

Your After Party will include canapés and refreshments, music and a fun photo booth with free commemorative photos to take away. You will also receive a commemorative badge to remember your time at CU Coventry. Our Careers & Employability Team will also be available at the event to advise and guide you on the next steps in your career. Come and celebrate your achievements.

Gown Hire and Photography
Gown Hire
Gowns, hoods and hats must be ordered online at Ede and Ravenscroft. For more information visit the Ede and Ravencroft Website

NB: If you miss the deadlines, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to hire a gown on the day of your ceremony.

Photography
Ede and Ravenscroft will also be providing a photography service throughout graduation, you may pre-order photos from their website or email: photography@graduation-services.co.uk
DVD
There will be a DVD recording made of each ceremony which can be purchased either on the day of your ceremony or after the event online. Click here for further details about graduation DVDs
Certificates
Every student who has completed a course and has been awarded will be issued with their certificate and diploma supplement at a graduation ceremony. If you're unable to attend the ceremony, alternative arrangements can be made for you to either collect your certificate two weeks after the graduation ceremony or your certificate can be posted to the correspondence address that you have provided on NOVA. If you need further assistance, please contact Academic Registry.
Brochures 
Each graduate will be given a copy of a brochure for their ceremony. Additional copies can be purchased on the day or via our Online Store 

Graduation Security Announcement

An increased security presence and extensive checks will be in place for all forthcoming awards ceremonies. Please allow extra time to access our venues since these checks may slow down the entry of guests and students into Square One, the Cathedral and the Humber Lecture Theatre or the Britannia Hotel. There will not be any access to Priory Street as it will be closed to vehicles. Please only bring small bags with you since larger bags and holdalls will not be permitted and there will not be anywhere to store these. Thank you for your co-operation.
