Music
Music at Coventry encourages experimentation, curiosity and investigation together with a flexible and entrepreneurial approach, focusing on either music performance or music composition.
Music performance is primarily for those students who are interested in ensemble and contemporary music.
Music composition is for students who want to develop their composition skills and techniques. Both roots draw together and emphasize the links between music practice and scholarship.
The Department of Performing Arts offers courses in music.
Students will have the opportunity to collaborate with students on other courses, with outside agencies and with local and regional communities.
Touring work is encouraged, as is engagement with the wider community to offer a form of work-based learning and a more informed perspective on music performance or composition practice.
Our music facilities include dedicated performance, rehearsal and music practice rooms, providing a taste of what it is like to be a professional, while still enjoying the guidance and support provided by our experienced staff.
