Pastoral Support

What is a Chaplain?

A chaplain is a recognised representative or leader of a faith community. The team at Coventry undertakes the care of all staffs and students whether you have faith or none.  Whatever your faith, we offer:

  • support
  • a listening ear
  • teaching
  • advice
  • encouragement

The Chaplaincy Team, although it represents a broad range of Christian traditions and other faiths, is here for all students and staff of any faith or none.  If you would like to know more, please call into the Chaplaincy for a chat.

What sort of care can a chaplain offer?

Many find that it is at University that they really begin to make sense of the world and their place in it. Having space to ask life's BIG questions and people to share with as you explore possible answers is really important. Chaplains at the Spirituality and Faith Centre can help.

Located in the basement of the Alan Berry Building, we are open every weekday during term time. We offer; a space to meet others, events that challenge, inform and celebrate as well as information about the diverse spiritual and religious life of Coventry.

We also offer a range of social and cultural activities. Chaplains are pleased to listen and offer support and encouragement to all in the University.

    Why talk to a chaplain?

    When ...

    • you need space to think
    • you just want to chat
    • you don't want anyone else to know
    • you don't know who to ask
    • it's talk or burst

    If ...

    • you're trying to find the right place to worship
    • you'd like to explore the deeper questions of life, but not sure where to start
    • You're going to a funeral and don't know what happens
    • you have to decide if something's right or wrong
    • you regret soemthing that's happened and want to move on

... then Coventry UniversitySpirituality and Faith Centre can help.
