Staff Statements

John is the organiser of the Coventry Conversations. The series aims to provide a rich variety of media topics for discussion on a weekly basis. It has included speakers such as; Peter Bazalgette, Creative Director Endemol, Nick Pollard, Editor Sky News, Wayne Garvie, the inventor of the successful "Strictly Come Dancing" TV format, Donal Macintyre, Gillian Reynolds MBE, Daily Telegraph, John Simpson, Sir Denis Foreman, founding father of Granada Television.

John is an Associate Senior Lecturer in Journalism and has worked in British and Third World television for over a quarter of a century. He has been a producer and director for the BBC, Channel Four and for several ITV companies – Granada, Thames, TVS, HTV Wales, HTV West, West country and UTV. John is a Royal Television Society Award winner.
