AME is supporting the growth of UK industry by providing a pipeline of skilled engineering graduates that can make an immediate impact when they enter employment.

This is just one element of what we do…

Through our world class research base, we aim to attract and deliver groundbreaking projects designed to develop and test the latest technology in priority areas for the industrial and transport sectors, such as lightweighting and reduced fuel consumption and emissions.

This will be used by Unipart Manufacturing Group to develop the next generation of products for its global customer base across automotive, aerospace, rail, power generation, oil and gas and rail.

A number of supply chain partners are already involved in seven R&D projects and this number will continue to grow as we look to disseminate the knowledge we’ve gained across 1st, 2nd and 3rd tier firms.

We also want other engineering specialists to tap into AME’s unique capabilities as the UK’s first ‘Faulty on the Factory Floor’.

This means accessing some of the best academic minds, £3m of machinery in our manufacturing hub and bespoke training courses in our six anchor technologies, including:

  • Analysis and simulation
  • Automation and robotics
  • Joining and welding
  • Metrology
  • Product verification
  • Tube forming and manipulation
