Meet Prof. Silas Lwakabamba
Regional Managing Director of the Africa Hub
Professor Lwakabamba has served in leadership roles at the UN-sponsored African Regional Centre for Engineering Design and Manufacturing in Ibadan, Nigeria; the University of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania; the Kigali Institute of Science and Technology, Rwanda; and the National University of Rwanda and University of Kibungo, Rwanda. His performance led him to be appointed Rwanda’s Minister of Infrastructure and later Rwanda’s Minister of Education.
He has been a Chair and Member of a number of national, regional and international boards and committees including the Executive Board of UNESCO. He is currently a Member of Atlantis Group of the Varkey Foundation, a worldwide advisory group of 25 former Ministers of Education and former Heads of State.
